Aortic Regururgitation - Severe | #4

This is an auscultation simulation of Aortic Regurgitation - Acute Severe taken at Erb's point. Note that S1 is decreased due to premature mitral valve closure. S2 is single and represents an increased P2. A diamond-shaped aortic flow murmur is noted in early systole. A decrescendo, high-pitched, blowing, diastolic murmur ends in mid-diastole. The EKG shows no diagnostic changes. Look at the cardiac animation. It shows normal chamber sizes and wall thicknesses. The systolic Doppler-plume in the aorta represents a flow murmur, while the diastolic left ventricular Doppler-plume represents severe aortic regurgitation.
